Our Story
Wisdom in service of health.
In 2017, a Swiss type 2 diabetic electrician - now retired - decided to dedicate his time to a project he had been carrying for years. Over five years, he thought through, sketched, and refined every flow, every screen, every interaction - with the exactingness of someone who lives with diabetes every day and knows precisely what he needs to regain peace of mind.
In 2024, after an unsuccessful search to get his idea developed, he partnered with a young engineer freshly graduated from EPFL in computer science. Together, they brought the project to life: youth in service of wisdom, code in service of lived experience.
Around 800 million people live with diabetes worldwide. Applidia was born for them - a tool designed by a patient, built with rigour, and sustained by the generosity of its users.
